NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF CONTRACT, AND ENGINEER’S OPINION OF PROBABLE CONSTRUCTION COST FOR SOUTHERN IOWA RURAL WATER ASSOCIATION, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS OWNER – WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS – DIVISION 1: SIRWA WATER TREATMENT PLANT – DIVISION 2: WATER TRANSMISSION MAIN IMPROVEMENTS – DIVISION 3: ELEVATED STORAGE TANK.

Notice is hereby given that there are on file at the office of the Southern Iowa Rural Water Association, Creston, Iowa, whose principal office is located one (1) mile west of the City of Creston in Union County, Iowa, proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated costs for the construction of the Southern Iowa Rural Water Association - Water System Improvements – Division 1: SIRWA Water Treatment Plant – Division 2: Water Transmission Main Improvements – Division 3: Elevated Storage Tank.

Notice is hereby given that a hearing will be conducted at a public meeting of said Southern Iowa Rural Water Association to be held at the Southern Iowa Rural Water Association Office, located at 1391 190th Street, Creston, Iowa, at 10:00 o’clock A.M., on the 18th day of August, 2021, at which time and place any person may appear and file objections to the proposed plans, specifications and form of contract and estimated costs for said public improvements.

The location and description of the Work involved is generally as follows:
DIVISION 1: SIRWA WATER TREATMENT PLANT: Work is to be located in central Union County, Iowa; the Work is proposed to include construction of a 6 mgd water treatment plant.
DIVISION 2: WATER TRANSMISSION MAIN IMPROVEMENTS: Work is to be located in central Union County, Iowa; the Work is proposed to include furnishing and installing approximately 9.5 miles of 16-inch, 20-inch, and 24-inch diameter water transmission piping.
DIVISION 3: ELEVATED STORAGE TANK: Work is to be located in central Union County, Iowa; the Work is proposed to include erecting a 1,000,000 gallon legged elevated storage tank, or an alternate 1,250,000 gallon legged elevated storage tank.
